Public Access
Indian Point is dedicated to being a good neighbor and a valuable addition to the community.
To this end we have:
- Dedicated on-site 18,320 sf to public open space and 19, 000sf adjacent off-site to public accesss ad open space.
- Developed 3 public pocket parks providing accsess to shoreline.
- Cleaned and restored 3 beaches on west, south and east shoreline of Indian Point. These restored beaches provide easy and open public access to a shoreline which was previously virtually inaccessible to most people due to degraded banks and beaches, litered with concrete slabs thrown on shoreline as buffer during earlie times.
- Provided a final connection to Port Townsend's Urban Shoreline Plan "Water Walk".
- Restored native beach grasses and indigenous plants to Point.
- Removed 2,600 cubic yards of contaminated soils from the point and replaced with clean local soil all under the supervision of Washington State Dept. of Ecology through their Voluntary Cleanup Plan.
